An assignment for Advanced Digital! We were supposed to make a gif portrait of a historical figure. I chose Julie d’Aubigny, 17th century swordsmaster and opera singer, responsible for the deaths of at least ten men in duels, and openly bisexual. After her lover was placed into a convent by the girl’s parents, d’Aubigny took the vows to enter the convent as a novice, then rescued her lover and set the convent on fire to cover their escape. Dang.

I don’t think I ever put this watercolor drawing of Lady Eboshi (from Princess Mononoke) up on Tumblr. I had to scan the original this week for use on a poster, so here she is!
A sample of the dozens of Stumptown Comics Fest sketch posters that were being passed around this weekend - the sketch posters were distributed to convention attendees for free, and then the attendees would ask exhibiting artists to fill in the empty panels to create bizarro comic strips that the attendees could then take home as a very silly convention momento.
